May was born in Toronto and grew up between Canada and the UK where she received a unique education, raised on movie sets worldwide by her film-making parents (Rodney Charters ASC, CSC, and Gillian Charters). She booked her first job at 10 years old, playing an orphan in the Canadian/BBC TV movie Heaven On Earth. Then later pursued acting professionally at 16, with productions at the Leah Posluns Theater, while continuing a formal education at Trinity College School. At 19, May began directing at the NY Film Academy and acting in London at LAMDA and RADA. She also trained as a Figure Skater, Ballet, and Flamenco dancer throughout the years, performing professionally for various dance companies in Canada, the US, and Spain.

Following the film festival success of the two short dance films that she wrote and directed, “Death of My Past” and “The Spanish Dancer,” May embarks on the journey of her first feature-length film, "Lovers in a Dangerous Time.” After a successful theatrical release in Canada, it was on Hulu's top pick page for an indie film and on Netflix for two years. It is now available on iTunes.

While painting portraits for an art show in Los Angeles, she met renowned photographer Bruce Weber and became one of his top scouts and casting directors for his campaigns. This took her around the world and busy full time, and now she is back to pursuing her first love of telling stories through all her creative talents.

I had the opportunity to work with May on a AAA Game project, for which she was a lead Voice Artist. May was a total pleasure to work with. She has a really intuitive approach to performance and created an authentic and believable character for the project. May has an incredible technique from her training at LAMDA & RADA giving her the ability to improvise, experiment, and try new ideas. May is a hugely talented actress and I would recommend her for any project.—
